29 Weeks/Work Outfit

I can honestly say that I've been a bit on the lazy side when it comes to getting ready for work. But today I decided to make an extra effort, is nothing special but it makes me feel happy & comfortable when I dress up my baby bump.

Jacket/Sandals: Forever 21 (I bought it a while back)
Skirt & Top: Fashion Store (Skirt was about $11/ top $20)

I was able to capture my dear Lucas kicking away (it's only for the 1st 10 secs. & you can also hear Daniel playing Halo in the background lol)

Pediatrician

I'm currently in the process of looking for a pediatrician. I've never done this so of course I have tons of research to do. I found this great list for all those future mommies out there which provides you with great questions to ask when you do the meet/greet before the baby arrives.

I'm personally looking for someone who will be able to:
  1. Answer ALL my questions
  2. Provide me with specific details when needed
  3.  I want to feel comfortable whenever I walk into the office
  4. That the doctor has compassion towards a first time mom (like me)
  5. Most importantly, will treat my baby with lots of love.
That's not a lot to ask, uh? LOL!

I already made three appointments that way I get to meet them before Lucas gets here.

You can find the interview sheet here

I also made this excel sheet for my personal use. I apologize for the small image (you can click on it and it will get bigger) but it has the following details:
  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone #
  • Specifics (meaning if they are pediatric board certified)
  • Gender
  • Doctor in my network
  • Available for meet/greet
  • Notes

Week 29

Here's my progress at 29 weeks. I had my doctor appointment last Friday (7/26/13) and I was told I'm borderline diabetic, which means I'll have to take the three hour glucose exam. I'm hoping everything comes out good.

Symptoms: Lack of sleep, hip pain & exhaustion

Queasy/Sick: Almond Milk

Best Moments: Every time I feel him move

Belly Button: Innie/Outie

Weight Gain/Loss: 20 lbs

Movements: Tons of them

Cravings: Fruits--cranberries & blueberries

Wedding Ring: Still fits

Stretch Marks: None, but I do have the linea nigra

Miss Anything: Sleeping on my stomach

Sleeping: Ok! I wake up a lot during the night

How far along: 29 weeks

Maternity Clothes: I haven't bought any (recently) still using my old clothes

Are you showing yet: Most definitely!

I've also started decorating our place and of course TJ Maxx was THE place to go! I found this adorable table, lamp, basket & entrance rug. I'm still adding a few items to it but as of right now this is how it looks. I also bought this adorable bed for 'the baby' at TJ Maxx.

Living Room Decor

One of the most exciting parts about moving is that you get to decorate! I love looking for ideas, mixing and matching colors and of course making our place look comfortable and homier.  I'm a bargain shopper so I absolutely love going to TJ Maxx and Marshalls for great deals and beautiful items.

I'm currently working on decorating our living room. We have brown couches so I bought white & teal cushions to add a nice lighter tone. I also bought two distressed tables--one to put right between the couch & Daniel's recliner and another one to be placed by the entrance. I love to combine dark and light colors so here are some ideas that I have in mind in order to make the place look a bit nicer (Pinterest is the place to go when you are looking for great ideas)

Weeks 26 & 27

The past two weeks have been busy for us. We finally moved to our new place and honestly we couldn't be happier. I must say that moving while pregnant & during the summer time is no fun, but the weather was definitely on our side because it was gloomy. I haven't been able to take any pictures of my progress but the belly is definitely growing and so far no more contractions. Lucas has been very active (which is a blessing) & we are extremely happy that we finally brought our little one home, my dear Ñoño. He was staying at my mom's until we were able to find a place where they let you have pets and he was just so happy. But a big THANK YOU to my sister and mom for taking care of him.

Symptoms: Lack of sleep, hungrier than usual & exhaustion

Queasy/Sick: Almond Milk

Best Moments: Knowing that Lucas is doing well. No extra fluids on my uteres and I'm not dilating. Also I got to see Luca's hair, it was all spiked up just like Daniel's when he was a baby.

Belly Button: Innie/Outie

Weight Gain/Loss: I've gained 20 lbs!!!!

Movements: Tons of them

Cravings: Still fruits--I had to cut back on some of the high sugar fruits so I'm sticking to cranberries & blueberries

Ring: Still fits

Books: What to Expect--I haven't been reading that much

Stretch Marks: None

Miss Anything: Sleeping on my stomach

Sleep: Ok! I wake up a lot during the night

How far along: 28 weeks

Maternity Clothes: I haven't bought any (recently) still using my old clothes

Are you showing yet: Most definitely!

Doctor's appointment-27 weeks

I want to thank my parents for their amazing help this weekend as well as my sister & Erin! I really appreciate your help & support. Also my husband's friend Rene for helping out as well. Your help was much appreciated!

*I'll post more pictures of our new place as we get situated because at the moment we still haven't unpacked some of our belongings. & I can't wait to start decorating the new place as well*

Nursery Ideas

I must say I've been "lazy"--if that's even the proper word to use--when it comes to decorating the nursery. We are in the process of moving so I really can't do much other than get ideas. Finding the right color, decor style, pictures, toys, frames, etc has been fun and we are fortunate enough to have a convertible crib (which was a gift).  Daniel loves baseball so we decided to incorporate some of that style into the nursery but still be able to add my personal style as well.

As far as color goes, we want something that will be a good transition as Lucas gets older. Google has been my BFF when it comes to looking up ideas and I found this amazing website OnToBaby.  As I was looking around I came across these two nurseries and I love the colors (I also love the idea of putting the crib in the middle).

The crib.

I decided to use my old dresser and my amazing dad will be painting it for me (I will put a before & after picture later on) But this is the style that I'm going for; brown on the top as well as the handles and the rest can stay white.

I'm using my grandfather's old rocking chair (which will also be painted by my dad) and my grandmother will be doing the cushions for me. (I will post a before/after picture). I'm currently looking for an ottoman and here are a few that I've liked.

As far as decor--we would like to implement baseball but in a vintage style. I found pictures frames (instead of planes I would put baseball images) and I would add shelves to place toys & books.

I also have a bookcase that I would like to paint white and add more toys/books for Lucas. I'm a big advocate when it comes to books and I want Lucas to read and use his imagination as much as possible (of course the books will be in English & Spanish) And I couldn't resist this adorable red wagon!

Baseball mobile and bed sheets.

These are just some of the ideas that I currently have and I'm sure as time goes by I will add/remove things.

2. Vintage Nursery (both photographed by JHenderson )

My Bump

As I look and contemplate how much my Lucas has grown it amazes me to know that this little guy will be joining us soon. Aside from the two big scares that I've had (early contractions) and the visits to the hospital--from cervical exams, ultrasound, verifying that I'm not dilating, that I don't have an excess amount of fluids in my uterus, it has been a pleasure and an honor to carry this little person. I honestly love him so much and I love Daniel even more for being such a great husband, companion and support system. I've compiled a set of pictures throughout my pregnancy to see how much my stomach has grown. I regret not taking pictures at an earlier stage but between morning sickness & feeling tired I never got around it. But I'm content with the ones I've taken and I can't wait for my little one to see them!
