Flying With Lucas

On February 12 I took my dear Lucas on his first flight. My dad was getting married in AZ so it was a short flight. But to be honest I was a bit scared! I've seen parents trying to comfort their crying baby & you can see from the corner of your eye some of the passengers rolling their eyes and making faces because "that" baby won't stop crying. But at that moment all that matters is that your baby feels better & between you & I you will never see those passengers again so who cares, right? ;)

Lucas did very good tho' no crying or fuzziness going & coming back. I had read different articles on how to help your baby and be able to have a smooth ride, they all pretty much say the same thing:
  1. FEED THE BABY during takeoff and landing, it works :)
  2. Bring a new toy with you that way the baby is a bit more entertained
  3. Play, talk and maintain a positive attitude
Babies cry, is normal and is our job as parents to help them feel better! Overall it was a successful flight. I'm flying again sometime in April and this time I will be alone (let's see how it goes) POSITIVE ATTITUDE is the key!

{I'm totally one of those "let's take a pic for everything" type of mom so I ask the pilot if he could take a picture with Lucas because it was his 1st time on a plane & he was kind enough to pose with him}

5 Months

Wow I can't believe Lucas is already five months, time slow down a bit, yea?! Lucas is such an incredible baby with an amazing personality. He truly amazes me everyday and I have to keep up with him because WHAT AN AMOUNT OF ENERGY HE HAS!

Here's an update on Lucas:
  • 17 lbs 31 oz / 26 inches long
  • Wear sizes 3 diapers
  • He grabs everything!!! & he loves it
  • He is a little adventurer who loves to look around, touch new things and of course put them in his mouth
  • Teething started early with him but now is more noticeable : his gums are swollen, lots of droll and he needs to be chewing on something all the time.
  • As far as being fuzzy over teething he is doing pretty good, for now!
  • He loves tummy time, rolling over, getting on all four and pushing himself to crawl
  • Laughs a lot more, loves it when you play peekaboo with him, wants to reach for food and is not so fond of naps lol!
  • I can honestly say Lucas is super super super active, from jumping on your lap, making loud noises, if you are holding him he will do a 360 so he can see what's behind him or in front of him (depends how he is being held) & loves to fight his sleep
  • We started giving him brown rice cereal from happy bellies and he loves it (I mix it with breast milk and some of my mom friends suggested to spoon feed him instead of the bottle and it worked great) He actually reaches for the spoon already
  • He started to shake his head "no" lol, no sure if he understands the concept of NO but he looks funny just shaking his head
  • Loves bath and when I read to him
  • But the one thing that brings a smile to my face is when I sing "You are My Sunshine" and he will stop, look at me and smile {oh my heart melts} and he also loves to touch & caress our faces
He is a wonderful baby & is full of energy :)

4 Months

I'm way behind on my post but better late than never, right?

Here is an update on how Lucas is doing:

  • I can honestly say he is one super duper active baby! Being mellow is definitely not part of his agenda
  • Weighs around 15-16 lbs
  • He rolls, yells, smiles, laughs, loves to hold things & is very talkative
  • My boy truly has a big personality and a mind of his own
  • Wears size 2 diapers and 6 months clothes
  • He is extremely alert and loves to be outdoors

Maternity Session

well I can honestly say i've been way way behind on my blog. Motherhood has been amazing and I love every minute of it. I ain't going to lie {there are times where I end up eating half of the nutella bottle because Lucas won't stop crying and I'm not sure how to make him feel better} but like everything in life, this is a great learning experience. i'm learning how to be more patient and understand that my baby needs me more than ever. i'll be writing a bit more about that in another post. i want to share some of the pictures that our lovely photographer liz saldana took of my {not so small} bellly ;)

i loved how they came out & i decided i wanted to take pictures where daniel and i did our engagement session. such a beautiful and peaceful location.

thank you liz for the images.
